Snow removal at Rutgers University is a cooperative effort from the departments of Facilities  Maintenance  Services,  the Division of Housing, the Division of Parking and Transportation and University Police.  Working  together,  the collective goal is to ensure safe passageway throughout campus roads, sidewalks and parking lots.

FMS maintains the responsibility of snow plowing and snow removal from all  New Brunswick campus roads, sidewalks  and  parking  lots.  The  Division  of  Housing assists with snow removal operations, primarily focusing in housing areas.

FMS  maintains  a  Snow  Action  Plan,   which   is   followed   during   all   weather emergencies involving snow and/or ice.
